White Elephant

Youth can be such a waste of time

When you pretend to be someone you´re not

Trying hard to please others is the worse deal breaker

You could do things differently?

Could you do things differently?

Life starts at forty,they say

What have you left behind,by the time you were 40

You loved,didn't´t you?

You were loved

But was it ever reciprocal?

What is a family,anyways?

Do you consider being alone

In peace with your thoughts and yourself?

Sometimes we have to choose between

Being alone and high cortisol

They decided it, since you were young

Since they gave you that doll

As an expectation of sex, pregnancy and motherhood

What about the White Elephant?

It was your gift as a teenager

They said it was a gift from god

When her paw was on top of your chest

You learned to breath around it

The time you felt the weight, of the paw,off of you

You thought there was too much air to handle

And you learned to move on

With an elephant inside the room

With her paw on top of your chest

Let me breath!

Put your paw off of me!

Never obeys,listens or answers back

She does it for pleasure

The paw is too strong

For doctors or medical procedures

It depends on the will of the elephant alone

In the past it was just a game

She used to put her paw,on top of you

And you would laugh

She used to follow you around

Now she's just your prison
